In the end you want to make sure that your hair is protected no matter what hair straightening treatment or tools you choose. Many hair straighteners are for daily discipline and upkeep. There are lotions, sprays, balms, serums and cremes to help you tame wavy or curly hair, control frizz or protect from humidity. Several hair straightener creams offer protection against damage from hair dryers and hot irons. Look for the hair products that will protect your hair and keep it smooth, shiny and silky.
The two strips of silicone atop Bio Ionic’s flat iron plates seem silly, but they serve an important purpose. By buffering the outer edge of the plates, they reduce your chances of hair snags. They also force you to glide the flat iron more slowly through your hair (they are called speed strips, after all). While the slower technique maximizes shininess and smoothness, the speed strips can become a bit of an obstacle if your hair is thick.
This is a great blow dryer compared to a lot of the other pricier products out there! It dries my hair quickly without overheating it & causing damage. I like that it has two heat & power settings as well as the cool shot button. The cord is very long which is a nice feature. The only slight drawback is that it’s a little heavy to hold. Yet, since my hair dries much faster it isn’t a huge problem. I’m very happy with this blow dryer and highly recommend it!
GHD was involved in several water infrastructure projects in the USA, including desalination projects for the City of Carlsbad, Camp Pendleton, City of Huntington Beach and South Orange Country in the USA. The company also worked on the Brisbane and Christchurch rebuilding efforts, Manila Sewerage implementation, Codelco Colon Processing Plant in Chile and the Oakura Sewerage scheme in New Zealand.
Martin Penny, Gary Douglas, and Robert Powls founded ghd in 2001. The three collaborated to buy the rights to a hair straightening iron from a South Korean inventor. The brand quickly took off organically, and the company did not even begin advertising until two years after its launch. By then, hair salons and word of mouth carried ghd to £12 million, against a forecast of between £3 million and £4 million.
Not sure which temperature setting is right for your hair? We recommend starting slow and building up to higher heat settings gradually. Not only will you be able to perfectly identify the optimal heat setting for your hair, but you will also avoid overheating. After all, very few of us actually need upwards of 400° F to see the salon results we’ve always wanted!
Those with fine hair can keep the straightener at a lower temperature, while those with thick hair can increase the temperature to ensure they'll walk away with the same smooth results. No matter your hair type, the floating plate design and the curved edges of the plates themselves prevent any snagging or damage so your hair will glide through smoothly.
These ultra-smooth plates are great for straightening stubborn strands like curls and waves and are also ideal for creating natural, finished curls (similar to a curling iron) and even beachy waves.
